I use to get top rate DLA for care and lower rate for mobility. I have just got my PIP assessment back and scored 4 points for care and 4 for mobility. I have struggled to remain independent, but now it looks like I will have to go into a care home.

I scored no points on the preparing food because I can make breakfast with a Weetabix and a cup of tea. So I can prepare a meal.

But I cannot cook because I forget when I put anything on to cook. I will wander off and do other things. Even with the microwave, I can put something in but it's only when my diabetes start to play up and I start to shake I realise I haven't eaten.

Even making the tea in the morning, a lot of the time I will eat the Weetabix and forget the cup of tea. So often I go all day without a drink at all.

I have had three overdoses since I started to go through this process since 8th August, I'm really believe that I will take a fatal overdose over Christmas. This PIP has taken over my life 24/7.

I am trying to type up my responses to the interrogation, but not doing very well, just got another two days and I need to post it, but at present I cannot see how I'm going to do it. I will become just another suicide number..... Who cares anymore????

I have multiple mental health conditions, my daughter also had the same, but she only got to age 25, I guess at least I have made it to 68.

Please people on this site keep fighting for each other. I cannot go on just living on Weetabix.

Whilst things may seem very black, remember that there are people who can help you. You should certainly talk to you GP about the difficulties that you ae experiencing and you can call the Samaritans at any time.

As to dealing with the assessment, have you got a copy of the assessment report?

If not then you can still use the Decision Makers reasons that should have come with the Decision Letter. Go through each activity using your PIP2, the assessment report or the DM's notes and the PIP Claim guide to make sure that you have explained why you cannot complete the activity reliably and on the majority of days.

Make sure that you understand what the Descriptors are asking of you. Some have multiple elements and you need to meet each one to score.

Use the "formula" from the guide to help you complete each response.

1. What is the health problem or condition that makes it difficult for you to complete an activity.
2. Describe the problems you have doing the activity.
3. If you need to use an aid then explain why and how it helps you.
4. Would help from someone else help you to do the activity, what about prompting or supervision.
5. When do have these problems
6. If your conditions vary from day to day, how do they do this and how mush time are you affected and in what way.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
