The letter says
You say you have difficulty planning and following a journey in ur functional history and said you go out shopping with your daughter.your mental state examination showed normal concentration and memory.you do not take any medication for anxiety and hav no specialist mental inputtherefor I have decided you can plan and follow the route of a journey unaided.you say you have difficulty moving around your musculoskeletal examination slightly reduced movement in ur hips and knees with slightly reduced power in ur legs.in ur functional history you were able to walk around your home and that you go shopping with ur daughter and can walk around for 15 minutes.but have to stop every few minutes therefore I have decided that you can stand then move more than 50 metres but no more than 200mtrs"this is consistent with your medical history, your discription of a typical day how you engaged with the assessor, the available evidence the information you provided about your disability affects you, your mental state examination results and your musculoskeletal examination results . I cannot consider any help you need not covered by the activities for daily living and mobility including being near a toilet special diets stairs and use public transport, getting in and out of bed ..
That's what came with the award letter.

What do you think.

Foz

This is the Decision Maker's Statement of Reasons, the assessors report is about 30 pages.

It's difficult for us to comment on what the DM or assessor has said, what has been written is not unreasonable in regard to the legal tests, whether it is reasonable in relation to your problems is another matter.

Also there is the issue of how you have described your limitations on the PIP2? How well you matched the Descriptors? The answer suggests that you have included content that is not relevant to the Descriptors and whether you have made appropriate use of "reliably" and "on the majority of days"?

Hi Foz,

I'm sorry, but not surprised, that the MR did not go in your favour as it is rare that they do anything other than 'rubber stamp' the original decision :(

You have 1 month from the date on the MR letter in which to submit your appeal to the Tribunal Service. You need to do this by downloading and submitting a SSCS1 form

www.gov.uk/social-security-child-support...unal/appeal-tribunal

You do not need to give a lot of detail at this stage. When you receive the 'bundle' of paperwork from DWP you can see what they have said and provide your submission.

The process is explained in the PIP guide. The following resources should also be helpful, even though it mainly talks about ESA the process is the same

Appeal FAQs

If your PIP claim was refused completely I'm afraid you will not receive any payment until/unless the appeal finds in your favour. You can make a new claim straight away but the decision on this new claim would supersede the appeal decision. So, if the appeal awarded you PIP but the new claim was refused, your PIP would only be paid up to the date of the decision on the new claim.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
