ESA claim

Thank you. What I am concerned about is the fact that I cannot face, excuse the pun, a face2face. I have learned from Maximus that the doctor letter saying I cannot cope with attending a medical centre has to be dated not more than 3 months before the f2f assessment appointment letter date. So I cannot get my doctor to do this letter upfront like she did for my PIP claim because it could go out of date if the f2f assessment appointment was a long time coming. I think my GP would be annoyed if I had to get her to repeat the letter with a newer date. I was advised by Maximus that the f2f appointment letter can be a v long time coming and to wait to get it before getting my GP to write her letter saying I cannot attend. But I can predict now that an appointment f2f letter will come and my GP will not get her letter done before the appointment date. How can I get around this ?

You can't! All I can suggest is that you speak to your GP and explain the situation and ask them to help you deal with the situation when it arises.

Hmmm, I will have think of a cunning plan lol. Also when I phoned the chdauk/ Maximus people , the first advisor would not give me an address. He said he could not help until I had started my claim. The second person, a lady, I spoke to there was much more helpful and gave me some good info but I forgot to try asking for an address. If i work out quite soon what I need in the way of extra evidence from my GP but am unable to get an address, do you think my GP could just put Maximus at the top of the letter C/O 'Cruella' my real name thou obviously! (with no address) Or is there some legal thing where a letter only truely counts if it is addressed properly?

You will have an address as soon as you receive an invitation to a face to face, but you would be better advised to have your GP fax the letter to them, so contact Maximus as soon as the letter arrives for the number.

Sorry, I meant I would like to get further evidence about my health conditions now, my GP is phoning me tomorrow and i wanted to ask her for a letter to send with my ESA50 about my condition so that by the time it is done(could take 5 weeks plus by the time I get it - the doctors letters take forever to get done) I will have it in my hands to send attached to the ESA50. Can she just put Maximus on it or just ESA or address it I said on previous post Maximus C/O me or maybe not put address on the letter just statement of fact?

If they need an address then you can use the ESA office dealing with your claim, it will be on any of the letters that you receive from them, with the exception of any letter asking you to attend a Work Focussed Interview, although this should be issued after you have been sent the ESA50.

I thought you were concerned about the letter being out of date?
