ESA claim

I understand as soon as I phone through to do that ESA1 that my ESA claim has started, what if I do not give in their opinion a sufficient answer or two, and I have to go back to them in a second phone call to fill in the gaps on the ESA1, will my claim still have began with the very first phone call? It is just that it is important to get my claim going this week. ( Some of my financial info is a bit tricky and I will prob have to gain more info later).
