Confused!. I thought I understood from the chdauk telephone lady that the letter saying why you cannot attend a medical assessment centre was the one that had to be in date. (within 3 months of the appointment) Do you think other letters just describing health conditions have to be dated within 3 months of the appointment too?

Sorry it's not you, I thought you were talking about the home assessment letter, so don't worry.

Thank you, I have been looking at the ESA1 form in preparation for making that phone call to start the claim(at last lol). It wants to know statutory maternity pay info, this was nearly 20 years ago, how can I answer that?

Silly me. I understand as soon as I phone through to do that ESA1 that my ESA claim has started, what if I do not give in their opinion a sufficient answer or two, and I have to go back to them in a second phone call to fill in the gaps on the ESA1, will my claim still have began with the very first phone call? It is just that it is important to get my claim going this week. ( Some of my financial info is a bit tricky and I will prob have to gain more info later).

The claim date is related to your Fit Note, so when you make the call one of the question you will be asked is the date you want to start your claim from, providing you provide any additional information that they require within a reasonable timescale then your claim will start from that date.
