mobbba wrote: I received the dreaded brown envelope yesterday morning. DLA to PIP. No forms to complete just a letter outlining PIP and asking me to telephone the DWP.

Can anyone please give me direction with this? What can I expect on the telephone call? Should I have things written down? Will they ask about my health problems?

I have bad hands, thumbs and forefingers and find writing difficult, would I be able to complete forms online?

I want to be prepared for the call....as you can probably tell I am worried.

Thanks in advance x

The PIP Claim guide explains the process in detail including what you will be asked during the phone call. See

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

There is no online version of the form, you must use the one that you are sent but you can type your answer and attach them to the form.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi mobba,

There is no need make dupicate posts if your doesn't appear immediately. All messages on this forum are checked by a moderator before being published. This can take some time, even when the forum is officially 'open'. Gordon has dealt with around 60 posts on his own this afternoon!

I have duplicated your duplicate topic so that everything is kept in one place for you :)

Hi... I made the telephone call today to start the ball rolling. I was stressed, don't know why it was only simple questions

The operator went through everything and towards the end of the conversation she said someone will contact you within 14 days.

I am not sure what that meant, can anyone help? Also She asked me if they could contact me by telephone and letter I said ok. Should I have said only letter?

I don't know this whole thing poses such a threat to everyone. I am 67 now and could do without all this :(

Thanks

Hi mobbba,

The DWP have decided to be 'touchy feely' and send out updates and reminders throughout the process. I think they believe this is helpful, they don't realise how much stress this can cause to people who are already struggling!

I think it is likely that you will be contacted to tell you that the PIP2 form is on its way. Even so, I suggest you should contact DWP if it has not arrived within a couple of weeks.

I expect you will also get text messages, reminding you to get the form submitted and telling you what is happening to your claim, if you gave them a mobile number.

Sorry mobbba,

That is my fault for not being clear

There is a link to a sample form so that you can see what you will be asked and start to formulate your replies.

There is no version that you can fill in. Each PIP2 form is marked with a unique barcode that identifies the claimant and it is essential that this is the form you return.

You can formulate all your replies in 'word' and submit these as additional pages if you find this easier, rather than trying to write in the small spaces provided on the forms.

As an aside - I have merged your two topics relating to your PIP claim as you were posting messages on both. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one place to save confusion and duplication of replies. Please reply to this message with your further questions/comments and we will do our best to help :)
