Home Visit for PIP

HI I have just had my DLA to PIP questionaire and I am unsure as to if I am allowed to tick more than one box for each discripture? I cannot see how I can honestly answer some of the questions because two discriptures apply sometimes.Thank you in advance.

HI , Earlier this year I was asked to claim PIP as part of the DLA to PIP process. I filled out the forms and sent them off. I did not ask for a home visit from them, but today I have received my date for my FtoF and its to be done at my home!!!!!!!!!!! which is great.
My question is. I am confused as to if this is a medical or not? The letter just says "We have looked at the information related to your applicaction for PIP. To complete your assessment we will need to meet you face to face" They go on to say they are sending a Health Professional.Is a medical request the same as my face to face meeting they have arranged?

I have merged your query with your previous topic dealing with your PIP claim. It helps us enormously if everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place!

We sometimes hear of claimants being granted home assessments when they have not asked for one. Which is ironic considering the amount of people who ask for one but do not get it! However, that is not your problem, I am glad that having a home assessment will make things a little easier for you.

We refer to this as a 'face 2 face assessment', it is not a 'medical' in the accepted sense of the word. It is highly unlikely that any comprehensive medical examination will be carried out, you will certainly not be asked to undress down to underwear, for instance. What you will get is lots of questions, some relating directly to the form you completed, some seeming less straightforward. For instance, you might be asked whether you watch television, or for how many minutes you can walk. This is covered in more detail towards the back of our PIP guides.

PIP help for claimants

You are allowed to have someone with you at the appointment, there is nothing to stop them taking written notes if you want them to. You can also chose in which room you wish the assessment to take place. The assessor should not want to see around your house - but you might feel that it is in your interests to show them any aids or adaptations that you have.

Hi, I have had my home Face to Face, I was told at the end of it that it would take betwwen 3 to 6 weeks before I heard anything. So today Ive received a letter that says they have got all the info and reports that they need. It goes on to say this will help them to make a decision with regard to my claim for PIP. It apologises for the delay in them being unable to give me a decision and that they will contact me as soon as they can.
Mindful that there are delays in the Pip decisions being made, am I right in thinking this is just a run of the mill letter? Thanks in advance.
