Hi, I have had my results of my claim for PIP, having been transfered from DLA. I had the indefinate award for DLA, but fully realised that PIP was altogether awarded for different limitations.
I was assessed by Capita. The lady that came was so nice she put me at ease the minute she came to the door. The assessment was about an hour long, my husband had a meeting he really had to attend so I was alone, but that was fine. She asked a lot of questions and then asked me to do various physical things but stressed if I felt pain or could not do any of the actions to say so and we would stop. On leaving she said she hoped I would be awarded PIP and thanked me for my time. I unfortuately have forgotten her name. I wanted to phone Capita ( before my award decision was made) to let them know how very nice and professional she was
. Fast forward to today and my letter from DWP to say I have been awarded PIP both at standard amount until 2022 I missed the enhanced award by one point on both Care and Mobility. I have no intention of asking for a MR as I fully accept the award and it reflexs the change in the goalposts from DLA to PIP. I would just like to thank you also for your support to me and many others.Keep up the good work. best regards Jo

Hi I have been reading through some questions on this site and noticed that you advise asking the DWP for a copy of the assessors report following a face to face for PIP. I was satisfied with the result I got and with the HCP and didnt think to ask for a copy. Would it be too late now...5 mths since my result decision...The award is until 2022. Would it be of any use in getting one? Thank you in advance.

Hi Jot,

Even though you are happy with your award, it can still be helpful to have the report. It might be that your file is now off-site (I don't know exactly when they are moved ) but you can get everything you want be submitting a Subject Access request for all paperwork associated with the claim.

Requesting a Subject Access Request (SAR) :

SAR Form Download

From this page :

DWP Data Protection Policy

Or you can make the request in the form of a letter, as long as you make it clear that you are making a formal SAR under The Data Protection Act 1998.

Address the envelope : FAO The Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your PIP.

Write DPA 1998 SAR in front, top, left corner of envelope.

Once received, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Sending Documents to the DWP.
