If you report a Change then I would expect you to have to complete a new ESA50 and attend a face to face assessment.

Teresa wrote: Hi, it's been a while but I had my decision changed in may to get esa but in wrag group. I wrote to them again in July/ beginning of Aug to ask for the decision to be reassessed and could I be put in the support group. A decision maker called me last week to say she had looked at my letter and superseded the decision and I am now in support group from my letter date in August . I hadn't heard anything so phoned dwp today and they have said that even though I am in support group now I won't get any money as my contributions have run out ? Is that correct, if So it's disgusting .
First of all congratulations on getting the award updated.
They are incorrect, even if you have previously used up your 365 days of ESA(CB) payments while you were not in the Support Group, being in the SG means that there is no restriction on the payment of ESA(CB) as long you are eligible to receive it in the first place.
I would contact them again and if necessary ask to speak to a manager, this will require a call back.

From Aug they are saying my contributions ran out in April. When I spoke to the decision maker on the phone she asked about my assessment and clearly said that she was supersedingvthe assessment. They say that because in my letter she has said my condition has deteriorated from August there is nothing they can do!! My condition is exactly the same as February when I first was assessed.

As your SG aware was the result of a Change of Circumstances I agree (without further information) with the award starting in August but the failure to pay you is incorrect. You need to contact the DWP about it and if necessary ask to speak to a manager. There is no restriction on you receiving ESA(CB) while in the SG.
