ESA decision received then assessment date arrived

I completed my ESA50 for reassessment and returned it on 4 March 2016. I had not heard anything regarding this, therefore, rang DWP to find out what was happening approx 10 days ago.

The result from the phone call was I was staying in the support group and an error had been made - the decision had been made weeks ago but no letter sent to me confirming this. A letter arrived in the mail last Friday advising I was to stay in the support group and I would receive a further letter advising payments. Excellent, phew no f2f, no more stress I can finally try to cover from this procedure! Wrong.

I have today received a letter from DWP advising I now have to have a f2f assessment. How wrong is this? All the anxiety is back with a massive bang! I feel so ill. This really should not be allowed.

On top of this, I have also received my PIP reassessment form so now need to complete this. My initial award was until next June 2017, feel absolutely out of my depth!

Sorry, rant over.

You need to contact the DWP about the situation, if a Decision has been made then there is no requirement for another assessment to be done, in fact the DWP cannot reassess for at least three months after a Decision.

It is possible that you were misinformed about the Decision and you are still being reassessed but only the DWP can tell you this.

Thank you for your response Gordon.

I have rung the DWP and you are correct, I was told the decision had been made, a letter sent out to me but it turns out it was just an informative letter, not personal to me! I am still being reassessed.

How to send someone on a high then leave them in the pits.

Assessment next week, trying to keep calm.

Thanks again.

Sorry. Sometimes it's depressing being correct.

Assessment yesterday, left me in a state but thats one step complete!

The PIP form returned via recorded delivery. The information on this site was really helpful when completing the PIP form, thank you - I had not joined/heard of this site before I completed the ESA50.

Now the waiting time begins again for both ESA and PIP.

I will post an update once I have one.

Update -

ESA - waiting for decision, feels like a lifetime since I had my f2f but only just over 2 weeks. I was told decision would be 3-4 weeks!

- At what stage can I obtain a medical report fromthe f2f please?

Sorry, I am sure the answer will be on this forum somewhere but do not have the patience or energy to go looking for it.

PIP - received my f2f appointment for week after next, what a nightmare.

I feel like this year has been constant worry after worry due to the ESA/PIP, certainly does not help mental health or any other health issues.

To make things worse, I have also been diagnosed with shingles.
