Up until recently, I thought that purchasing a property to live in would not be classed as Deprivation of Capital as the claimant would still have possession of theca[ital it had merely been changed from money to property but recently there was a topic on RightsNet that suggested that this might not be the case.

I'm afraid you really need to get face to face advice from a trained and salaried advisor, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

If it is not classed as Deprivation then yes, you would be able to retain your PC.

Ok Gordon thanks for your reply.

Will do a search as you suggested. See what such a search comes up with. Support worker got me booked in with a CAB adviser next week but I think this may be beyond what they can do, so if I could find a trained adviser that would probs be the better solution.

Thanks again

Regards PP:)
