Gordon, Thank you so much for your quick response. I couldn't have asked for better from you. Regardless of what happens now, I think I at least have a better understanding of how the system works. Fingers crossed!!
Thanks again
Terri

Good morning Gordon
I just wanted to say thank you again for your help and information - I received a payment into my account yesterday, and today I got notification in the post that they're going to pay me £73.10 a week, so presumably that's the assessment phase - the letter states that I "may" need to attend a WFI, and also I "may" have to attend a WCA, but no mention of the dreaded ESA 50 - Im certain that theyll send me one, and equally certain Ill hear it thud to the floor as it comes throught he letterbox!
Thanks again, the information you gave me really helped me make the decision to reapply, and what process to follow - my head was in a terrible mess at the time and couldn't see the wood for the trees.
Good luck to anyone trying to navigate the system!
Terri xx

Hi Terri,
I am glad that things went smoothly for you. Yes, I'm afraid you should expect another ESA50 to thud onto your doormat.
You could make a start on the PDF version if you want to give yourself a bit more time
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Hello lovely people, just a quick question for you....
As discussed previously, I have been on the ESA Assessment rate for a while. A couple of weeks ago, I received an appointment for a F2F medical assessment - cue panic stations!! I started to gather my evidence, and contacted the relevant GP and Consultants for additional support. Throughout this latest claim, DWP have been had the ESA50 I provided earlier on in the year, and I havent received a new one to complete. This morning, I received a letter from the Health Advisory Service, telling me that I dont need to attend the appointment and it has been cancelled (no mention of rearranging, just a straight cancellation).
Am I right in thinking that they cant find me "Fit for Work" and therefore refuse my ESA without a F2F assessment? I didnt have to attend one with my last claim, and was put straight into WRAG, but it just threw me a bit having received an appointment and it then being cancelled - maybe just a coincidence that I was sent the appointment and then the Decision Makers received my case and made their decision based on the evidence already provided, and therefore no appointment necessary?
Hope this all makes sense

You are correct that you cannot be found Fit for Work without attending a face to face assessment.
I would be tempted to phone Maximus about the cancellation to check that they have returned your file to the DWP.

If your file has bee returned to the DWP then I would phone them to find out whether a Decision has been made or not, we have seen a lot of members in this situation receive no confirmation of a Decision or a letter so badly worded that it was impossible to tell.
