No MR as yet, in fact the last mention was they could not consider one until Capita had done a re-assessment or re-worked the original one.

Now Capita have closed their file (their terminology) and DWP say their file is 'lost' I am not sure who is fobbing who off and where I sit. It's just coming up to seven weeks since I requested the MR.

Well I do have some news (I think)

Received a call from a DM at DWP earlier who told me the electronic file had been lost but now recovered. She said a letter was coming out to me but due to Christmas was unlikely to be generated until after Christmas.

I asked if I could be told the content, she put me on hold for a few moments and returned and said enhanced for both and payment would be backdated.

Still a bit in shock and somewhat scared to believe it until I see in in black and white and also how long the award is for - was so taken back forgot to ask.

She didn't refer to the MR, just the re-work Capita asked to carry out, so not really sure how all that sits with their process, again I guess the letter will clarify.

Nothing is straightforward it seems .

The award letter has still now arrived, I called DWP today and they say it was sent on 22nd December so in the post but they did read it to me. It confirms enhanced rate for both but the award length remains the same as the original award until October 2019.

You told me that any revised award will be backdated to the date of the original decision, I am I correct that the date to the next review will also run from that date ?

If so, that means it will not be long enough bearing in mind it is now into the third month since the original award, for me to apply for a new Motability vehicle. Is my thinking correct here ?

So I am going to ask a question which may well sound absolutely crazy now I have been awarded enhanced rate for both and I could risk losing that, can I appeal the length of the award ?
