PIP claim and ESA medical report

Just called DWP as we had a letter reminding my wife to send her form back. As we had sent it back guaranteed next day on Wednesday of this week we thought we would call. We realised that the letter from DWP had overlapped but as the letter had been signed for by DWP at 6am! we wanted to make sure it had got to the right department. Anyway they said they had received it yesterday (and the security guard would have signed for it) but it wouldn't be on the system for 5 working days. Anyway my wife asked them to check anyway. Well it was already on the system! They also said that she would hear from Atos in a few weeks not the 16 weeks on the recorded message. Anyway that's the situation. We will just wait now. At least we know it's on the 'system'.
Thank you for your support
Regards
Peter

It will be 3 weeks this Wednesday since we sent off my wife's PIP2 form. The letter she received originally said her dla indefinite low rate care and high rate mobility would end on the 27th August 2016.
Could you tell me please if she is awarded PIP does it get backdated to the 27th August 2016 or is it from the date they make the decision about her PIP if it is successful?
Thank you

It should be backdated to the day after her previous award ended.

Do you know how long you have to wait at the moment in the south West for a decision? We sent my wife's pip form off 3 weeks ago yesterday. We know they have received it.
Thanks Peter

I'm afraid we don't have regional statistics, at the moment we are still seeing most PIP Decision taking 7-8 weeks.
