Thanks for the update. I'm sorry your wife is finding it so stressful - but it really is worth spending the time to get the assessment at a time that suits her.

Hi

My wife has her assessment at home this Thursday. She's got the results of her Dexa scan regarding osteoporosis. The dr has written a letter saying that it is in her hips and particularly bad in right hip. He also said that there was an increased risk of sustaining fractures from low impact injuries such as falls. I think this is very supportive. We are going to give this to the assessor and a copy of the Esa medical form from last March 2015 as amongst other things it does state that my wife can only walk 10 to 20 yards (approx 18 m) with crutches with significant pain . So I hope this will help with the walking descriptor? Anyway she is very anxious about the whole assessment as her mobility car is her lifeline. She cannot leave the house without it . So any advice would be very gratefully received.

Thank you again for all the support this site gives.

Hello

I was wondering is it normal procedure to get a call the night before a home assessment? A very nice sounding woman has just called and spoken to my wife saying she is coming tomorrow to do her assessment. My wife said she had some additional evidence to give in and the assessor said she would give her a SAE to send the information into the dwp. We were hoping that the assessor would read it tomorrow as it is very relevant. But we got the impression that she was coming to talk to my wife about how her disability affects her not to deal with extra paperwork as there wouldn't be time. Just wondeted if anyone else has had the same happen to them?

Thanks

Hi Peter,

I haven't heard of this before but I'm sure members will comment from their own experience.

The assessor should read any additional information before starting.
