The people who answer the phones have no direct contact with the rest of DWP and have no authority to trigger a reassessment.

I received a letter on Saturday from the DWP, and thought I would put it on this thread because, this current question relates to the letter, and this thread started off with a letter I received in the past from the DWP.

The letter reads as follows:

"Dear Miss XXXX

YOUR CLAIM FOR EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT ALLOWANCE
CHANGES IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS

From 10 April 2017 the rates of some social security benefits may change.

From 13 April 2017, your Employment and Support Allowance will be £89.28 a week
(as previously mentioned in the thread, I receive a pension of around £540.00 a month)

The letter goes on to say From 30 November 2017 your Employment Support Allowance will be £99.28 a week.

You are required to immediately report any change in your circumstances to us, or the circumstances of your partner if you have one.

The attached sheet shows how we worked out your money.

Your living expenses £73.10
Limited capability for work addition
Extra money because you are in the Support Group £36.55
Which gives a total income-related amount £109.65

Income and benefits

Personal Health Insurance
or work related pension for you £20.37

Your total income £20.37

Your income related amount is £109.65 less £20.37 so you would have been entitled to £89.28

However because you are entitled to contribution based Employment and Support Allowance, we will pay you £89.28

The amounts on this page apply from 13 April 2017 to 29 November 2017

I have two questions, as follows
1) There have been no changes in circumstances, except the council tax people notified me a few weeks ago I was in credit of £20+ something (can't remember amountt), I don't know why I have got this letter, as pension amount not changed.
2) The DWP advised me about three years ago that my next due assessment was June 2015, but I assume I was one of the people who were put on the deferred list, making my assessment due in June 2017, so why are they mentioning November 2017?

I cannot phone the DWP, I freak out and find it traumatic, and have no one to call for me, which is why I hope you lovely people on here can help me.
Thank you

This appears to be the annual ESA entitlement letter.

Ignore the alleged £10 increase in November they are actually referring to the Christmas Bonus.

Hi Gordon. I too got the same letter last Saturday. It definitely says from 30th November 2017 you're ESA and support allowance will be £119.65 a week. There is no mention of the £10 Christmas bonus. I have looked on various Gov & DWP websites and cannot find any information of an increase from 30th November 2017 of £10. It's not like the DWP to hide an increase so really confused myself?

That's because there isn't one!

This must be an automatic letter though, because the DWP cannot know if I will be on ESA in November. I had a prognosis date of June 2015, must have been deferred two yrs , which makes my new reassessment date June 2017.
I never rang up to ask the prognosis date, due to fear of bad news, such as date still June 25 but backlog.
Now it's 2027 I assume I was on the deferred list, and if so, of course I'm glad I have been spared the extra stress, as I have a lot of other worries at the moment.
