TOPIC: Called for DLA to PIP Assessment at private physio

Called for DLA to PIP Assessment at private physio 1 month 2 weeks ago #170814

I'm really losing it at the moment. Have almost finished MR letter - it's 8 pages long so far. Just need to finish off the last bit about the moving around activity. That assessor didn't note how far I said I could walk even though it was in my questinnaire and I also told her in the F2F.

My next door neighbour has written me a really good "to whom it may concern" letter supporting me over not being able to walk more than a few steps. Should I send the original or send a copy of it? Brain just not functioning at all.

Not helped by waiting for Call Back from my GP over Royal Liverpool Hosp not getting in touch over colonoscopy appt, they were supposed to give me a telephone consultation on Tuesday afternoon but didn't call. Had lettter yesterday from GP to say get back in touch if I didn't hear from hospital by 10th. Not really relevant, other than to explain my general lack of two brain cells to rub together!

Hi Maggie,

If the letter has been written specifically for the claim, I would suggest sending the original - but make sure you keep a copy for your own records.

Hi there, sorry to hear of all the problems you are facing with this claim.

It is quite laughable re. the private / NHS wheelchair - it is being discounted if you use your own in a PIP medical but, at the same time, my ESA medical stated that I "ought to use one" (to replace my lack of physical mobility) as a way of keeping me out of the support group.

As I doubt I would be entitled to an NHS chair, I would be expected to buy one.

I wish you all the very best, I may well be in your position soon as I'm currently completing my PIP forms.

To be clear;

PIP Does not consider the use of a wheelchair the Moving Around test requires the claimant to stand and move (walk).

ESA does consider the claimants ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair as well as their ability to walk.

Checked out signed for form this morning and discovered my MR letter had arrived at 5.18am this morning! :laugh: It ended up being 8 pages long plus the lovely "to whom it may concern" letter from my next door neighbour. So I'm relieved it's arrived safely. Suspect it won't make any difference, other than it's a necessary hoop to jump through. :angry:

Found out this morning the reason I didn't get the telephone triage thing from the colorectal place last Tuesday was that one of the secretaries at GP practice cancelled it as she thought I'd get a quicker appointment if I didn't have to do the telephone appointment thing! :huh: :blink: :angry: So it's going to be tomorrow now. Really cross about this as hope to get off for last trip to Wales in my comfy car before it goes back and I'm guessing they'll want me in next week as it's taken so long to actually get to speak to somebody at the Royal.

Seem to be sleeping a lot since letter posted on Sat morning. Except it's asleep during day and awake for hours in middle of night when there's nothing much on tele to watch. :whistle:

Thanks for the update - fingers crossed that your hospital appointment doesn't stop your proposed trip!
