PIP, high to low withing 6 months was created by mddyq
Hi,
I'm back again. DLA to PIP went through as Enhanced with Standard mobility. Did the dutifull thing and notified of worsening conditions as recently diagnosed with another debilitating illness (Bronchiecstasis + poss Aspergillosis). 6 months later, reassessed - reduced to Standard rate, NO mobility.

I will be writing and phoning to ask for a mandatory reconsideration! Oh and they phoned on a Friday afternoon to say "you have an assesssment (40 miles away) this coming Monday". First I'd heard of it, no letter and no appointment available in my home town where I was seen before.

Q. Do I have to notify ESA and will they reduce that benefit as well?, return Blue Badge? or can I wait till the final decision?

Thanks

As it is a deterioration then the reality is that it is up to you, the DWP tend to have little interest in claimants who's conditions have worsened, only those that improved.

It really depends on what you current award is! If you are in the Support Group then there actually is no value in you notifying the DWP as your award cannot be increased further, if you are in the WRAG then it depends on the change, if you believe that you would now meet the criteria for the SG then it would be in your interest to contact the DWP about the change, if not then again there is really no point.

My understanding is that you can retain and use the Blue Badge.

Dont' think I explained myself properly. I was transferred from DLA to PIP (Assessment December 2015, decision received in March). Due to deterioration I was re assessed for PIP in July and the decision has come back as reduced from their first decision 6 months ago.

I have had ESA and DLA for a number of years, the ESA being in the support group. My question is, if my PIP has changed do I have to notify the ESA department?

Sorry, only if you are receiving additions to your ESA that are the result of your PIP claim, for example the Severe Disability Premium or the Enhanced Disability Premium.

Thanks for the advice, didn't reply as have been filling in forms!

I had the mandatory reassessment which has kept the standard rate of PIP and reinstated the lower mobility rate (positive result). Before reassessing they notified the local council who reassessed my council tax and they also notified ESA who have sent me the forms for WCA.

I have asked DWP for a copy of the ATOS report but as yet haven't received it. Please would you tell me the official name of the documents I need? I want to be able to compare the two differing assessments of the same conditions to decide whether or not to go to appeal.

Thanks again

Congratulations on the award.

Asking for the assessment report should be sufficient but it's a PA4 if you had a face to face and a PA3 if you did not.
