Replied by Gordon on topic recording pip assessment

jojo wrote: Is it acceptable to record either video or voice only PIP face to face assessment. Is there any criteria that has to be met to be able to do this. My previous experience is the reason I am considering this route. Any info will be much appreciated. jojo

You can make a sound recording of your assessment, videoing is not allowed.

You need t make a written request to the Assessment Provider to make the recording and you will need to provide equipment to record to two tapes or CDs simultaneously, digital recordings are not allowed.

Replied by jojo on topic pip home assessment imminent - panic!
Hi all. My home assessment for pip is on Wednesday 1st March - yes in two days time. To say I am stressed is an understatement. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. ~When medical person has finished do I have to sign his documents or can I ask for a copy so I can read first. Been caught out with this in the past with DLA and it was a nightmare. Standard reply is your benefit will stop if you do not sign it now, but I know I will not be able to read it due to my vision problems and sheer fatique I know I will endure. Help..... The latest news on qualifying criteria is deeply troubling. Thank goodness for your website. Thanks jojo

You don't have sign the report!

If you want a copy of it then leave it a couple of days and then contact the DWP office dealing with your claim..

Replied by jojo on topic PIP assessment farce
A truly despicable and disturbing assessment. I thought I had experienced everything DWP can throw at me over the years but this is the worse experience of my life. Can't post too much info now as I feel very ill with the highest bp reading I have ever recorded. The assessor was 'busy' and had 'four' assessments to do. Should this impact on me just because I have numerous health problems and are involved with 8 different hospital departments? Newer evidence provided due to a&e admission post sending the form, which in turn resulted in discovering a truly worrying new health problem was not looked at or included in the report. I have endured nothing short of torture today because she was too busy to record all my information. I am scared, was left absolutely distraught and feel desperately ill now. I contacted DWP who just said log a complaint with Capita, I phoned them and asked for a copy of their complaints procedure - they don't have one but I can write to them. Another concern me is the fact they didn't ask anything about my second carer, only one. So according to their report I will have a mere 9.25hrs care a week, when in fact in should be times 2. Will try and post again in a couple of day but I truly feel ill and exhausted. Just wanted you to know how disturbed and disgusted I am wth this assessment. Can only apologise for going on and on and on....
