According to the HP that did my F2F everyone bar those with a terminal illness will be asked to an assessment. From what I gather they are intent on genuine claimants only being successful. The HP that did mine was very nice, and seemed genuinely concerned about how my disabilities affect me. She even offered to get me another chair when she seen I wasn't comfortable in the one I was sitting on. That said I have requested a copy of my medical report so I can hit the ground running with an appeal if I'm unsuccessful.

We regularly hear this about the requirement for an assessment, it's simply not true, although your assessor may have genuinely believed it to be the case.

The procedures may be slightly different in N. Ireland but you should be able to get a copy of your medical records from your GP practice this may give you access to letters and reports from your consultants, etc. See

Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
