ESA Face to Face Problem was created by Ines
I had a ESA Face-to-Face Assessment last Tuesday 27/09/2016.

The first thing I did was to give the Assessor further 24 A4 pages of what I called Further Medical Evidence.

The assessor became immediately disturbed and angry , and told me , I quote " I cannot read your handwriting ".

Then I was the one who got apoplectic as all my ESA50 form and loads of my attachments were hand written by me, inclusive many letter I wrote to my GPs.and most of the 24 A4 pages I had just given her.

I asked her how could that be acceptable when DWP/JC+ had received my ESA50 form and all other enclosed documents more than 4 months ago and the Face toFace appointment was booked 2 weeks ago? Are you telling me that the first time you tried to read my papers was today and most likely not before my appointment time as you made me wait 1hour and 45 minutes?

Then the assessor told me I could cancel the assessment if I wanted to.

I did not know the implications if I cancelled , neither I could face prolonging the torture of waiting for another appointment, etc, etc.

I told assessor I did not want to cancel the appointment but I will use this issue if I need to dispute her decisions , I.e., ask for mandatory reconsideration and /or appeal .

As that was discussed , I think, before the recording was started, I am not sure if I mentioned this huge failure of assessor during the recording ? .Have to listen to cassette again which by the way is of very poor quality and it has a female voice in the ' backgorund ' repeating " today is 26th of September 2016 13 hours and so and so minutes. " is that the usual?

I had someone with me that could confirm the assessor told me she was not ale to read my handwriting.

NOTE: My previous ESA50 form was also handwritten , as it was many of the further evidence , appeal letter, etc, etc. and I did not have any porblems (2011/2012) : I was awarded ESA WRAG without medical and won my appeal to be moved to the Support Group without attending the tribunal hearing..

I find it impossible ( too tiring and time consuming ) to write in capitals that amount of pages because of my medical conditions : ME/ CFS, Fibromyalgia, severe Anxiety, severe Depression and Personality Disorder., among others.

To be honest there is little that you can do at the moment, until a Decision on your claim is made you will not know what if any effect this issue has had on your assessment. People often say they cannot do something when it is simply a case of it being more difficult than they would want, so it may well be that it was going to take the assessor longer to go through your ESA50 than they planned.
