No time to obtain PIP Medical evidence. was created by redfeend
I received my 'how disability affects you' forms yesterday, 1st October. They must be back at DWP by 23rd October.
Your advice pages say that requests to hospitals for medical notes must be dealt with in 40 days (21 days recommended). I have relevant MRI scans/operation notes/out patient notes etc at 3 different hospitals. I've never been given any scan reports or films and was encouraged to opt out of receiving copies of letters to my GP.
Ignoring the £50 fee to each hospital, how on earth can I get this substantial amount of paperwork and X days etc in the time allowed?

My osteopath is preparing a report and I'm confident of a supportive report from my GP (I got one for ESA 2 yrs ago).

I'm terrified. Do they ask for this info in the hope of scaring claimants away? They don't give enough time. I see my GP on 5th. Even that's going to be pushing my surgery to have a letter done in time........oh and yet another fee to pay.

Advice anyone? What to do? Does not help that my main specialist has just retired and his replacement does not deal with my condition. I have his ESA report from 2014. Should I submit that?

DWP seem to like social worker reports. I don't have a social worker.

Thanks for reading this. It's 5am. maybe I'll try going back to bed :-(

Returning the completed form on time is the most important thing for you to do, if your evidence or parts of it are not available in time for you to do this then you can always send them when they are.

Whether to send the ESA report will depend on how well it addresses your problems in completing the PIP activities, the ESA criteria is often different from the PIP ones, so you need to check.

Although your Hospitals have 40 days to respond, this does not mean that they will take this amount of time, the sooner you make a request for the information the sooner you will receive it.
