Just this minute out of gp , second dr in 2 weeks , both not willing to write a letter for application for pip and esa , she did however print off a X ray report detailing my arthritis of the hip and spine . What do I do now ? That's all I have just the X-ray report
Many thanks

Unfortunately GPs are not required to help claimants with their benefit claims and are increasingly refusing to do so.

You can access your medical records.

Thank you , yes it would seem so ,thing is there's no real point in obtaining my medical records as the condition I'm applying for was only diagnosed last month .perhaps I should have waited until I've seen a consultant and physio before claiming pip ?

Obviously, whether you claim now or wait is up to you. Do you actually have a date to see a consultant or physio yet? If you do, it may be that you will have some supporting documentation before the claim has been decided.

From now on, whenever you see a medical professional, other than your GP, you should ask for a copy of any letters written about you. This is free of charge and can form useful evidence for future claims or reassessments.
