Think I'm owed about £9000 more than they gave me?

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I do live alone, and despite my mum receiving carers allowance they have still awarded me the money since I don't know when but it adds up to £1000 Sdp/edp (I don't know which or both) but I only put my claim in about three months ago.

Apart from the above which I don't understand, I was wondering if I could claim both Sdp/edp for the time my mother wasn't receiving careers allowance from 2011-20015. She has only claimed for a year and that was only because we were sure that it wouldn't affect my benefits which I've found out it should affect my Sep/edp.

As Gordon says if you have some one receiving Carers Allowance (CA)you don't get the Sewvere3 Disability Premium (SDP). so from the time your Mother was awarded CA you wont be entitled to the SDP.

However !!! these are paid with ESA(IS)
You sate that you are receiving ESA)CB) which gives no premiums.

The rule about not getting SDP when some one is living with you does not aply if the person or persons living with you also are in Receipt of DLA/PIP.

You don't say if you live with your Mother(or anyone else), If you lived alone or only with person(S) receiving DLA/PIP before your mothers Ca award you should be entitled yo the SDP

SDP was £ 5950 (2013/14) and £61.10(2014/15) about £9000 for 2012/13/14

The the Enhanced disability was £15.15 (2013/15) and £15.55(2014/15 about £3000 for 2012 until now

These Potential underpayments only apply if meet the ESA(IS) rules on income/Capital for the Enhanced Disability Premium plus you meet the Living alone or with all persons in receipt of ESA/PIP for SDP

I

I should have added the premiums count in your applicable amount i.e. the amount ESA(IS) you are entitled to before deductions for other income. The amount of ESA(c) is deducted from this applicable amount which in effect you wood get the amount of the premiums as ESA (IS) unless of course you have other income or don't qualify for ESA(IS) for other reasons such as Capital ,or Living with a Partner.

If you were entitled to ESA(is) when you first claimed ESA you could be able to request the ESA(Is) amount to be backdated.

I hope this helps

In principle you can providing you can show that you met all of the criteria for payment during that period. You need to contact the DWP and ask them to look at this period as well. It might help if you get local support for this, as we are limited on the help that we can provide on the forum. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

I've tried but local advice isn't very good, I was hoping to get advice from this forum.

It seems every time I say about £9000 from benefits backdated and explain that it's not a simple backpayment, the advice people stop supporting me!

As Gordon said, we are limited in the advice we can give in the forum. Giving detailed advice would need in depth information of your situation and finances which is not appropriate on a public forum.
