Hi have a few questions that not particularly complicated but time critical ..have my PIP assessment on Wednesday and it is at home!! ( didn’t request it but very happy that is the case)

1. how do i know if my PIP form has been scanned onto the system. I had to complete all my answers as additional pages . I sent it recorded delivery and can see it has been signed for.

2 . I have additional information to what i originally sent , that i am wondering if i should send i.e., medication prescription list , daily diary, Intermediate care team assessment and the aids that they have / are providing
should i send this to DWP to be scanned onto the system to go with the my form and original additional pages? If so to which DWP address ? ( i am in Kent if that makes a difference) or should i give them to the assessor when she comes to my home on Wednesday? ( the assessor for DLA wouldn't take any additional information away with him). Or should I do both?

3.when will a decision be made and by whom? I am assuming once the assessment report has gone back is that correct?

4. Finally ,I am concerned about what i have read re :the PIP decisions having knock on affects on the existing ESA rewards or triggering an ESA reassessment . I was initially put into the WRAG group but after appeal was placed into the support group, I did not have to attend tribunal..the court rang me with there decision just before I was due to attend.
The thing is i don't know on what criteria I was awarded it on or how “ secure it was”... regulation 35 was mentioned in my submission and i know that isn’t as secure now- but i could just have easily been put into the Support group on other criteria as well.
How would i find out on what criteria I was placed into the support group?

To try and answer your questions.

1. If they hadn't processed your PIP2 then you wouldn't have an assessment, standard practice is to close the claimants claim if the form is not returned.

2. I would take it to the assessment and ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file. Make sure that you only give them copies. If you have any problems on the day then you still have the option of sending it to the DWP, the address will be on the original letter that you received inviting you to claim PIP.

3. Decisions are made by a DWP Decision Maker or Claims Manager, we are seeing a waiting time of 7-8 weeks across the whole country at the moment.

4. We have not seen an adverse PIP Decision, in the 2 1/2 years it has been live, have any effect on a claimants ESA award.

The Decision Notice from your appeal should list the criteria you met to be placed in the SG.

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
