Had the letter back yesterday after asking for the reconsideration just before Christmas. Looked quickly at the letter and it seemed just the same as the award letter hubby got originally. I knew obviously by looking that they hadn't changed their mind. I did think very strange nothing was explained on it. Anyway looked at it again this morning and silly me didn't look on the very back of the papers. and there was the explanation. It says due to my phone call on such a date and that I didn't ask them what to look at I did three times! they looked at the whole award again. And that was it basically they've left it the same. I rang them up and asked the lady to explain this as I did ask them to look at one part, and she did say they had it on screen what I had asked them to look at. She couldn't really explain and thought herself this was strange and she would get the case worker to ring us if wanted. I asked wwere they likely to look at it again knowing they probably wouldn't! she said probably not. I told her to leave it then as no point. Find this strange or is it a standard letter?

I think DWP often look at the whole claim again. However, it is probably also a standard letter!

You should have 2 copies of the decision letter, so that you can send one to the Tribunal Service if you wish to appeal. There is a copy of the SSCS1 form that you will need in the PIP guide.

Very strange for them to say that. Think they need to word it differently. Do see now why you say its always best to put it in writing also, which we didn't. No not going to appeal, hubby not great at the moment, and we definitely don't need more stress. Do think his award without a doubt should have been challenged all the way but with the way things are we are just going to accept their decision. We have got another car now after handing the mobility one back. that was the main thing, It was never about the money. So thankyou all very much for your advice you have given to us.

We read everything, you didn't appear to have asked a question.
