Hello FC

I have been reading your post re your hubby.I am glad that his medical is now over and I do hope that he will be awarded his pip in full.I read your posts with interest as I to have had 3 heart attacks and was indeed waiting for a ICD however with my last heart attack there was that much damage to my left hand side of my heart they have said the ICD will be of no use to me now.

I was just wondering what kind of exercise the nurse asked your hubby to do? I guess she asked if he could use a mobile phone as she wanted to see if he can use his fingers because of the arthritis in his hands,my friend was asked that awhile ago she was claiming ESA,she said she could-done her no harm as she got into the SP.

Anyways, really good luck to you both, and just put it to the back of your mind now as it is all done and dusted and relax cause stress is no good for anyone.

Hi there,

We looked at DLA and the PIP assessment respectively. They appear to do the same job, in theory, but proceed with caution, as they are searching for very different elements. It would appear to us, as we have just finished our PIP Tribunal Appeal, that you need to be physically and mentally impaired, and need constant supervision to meet the requirements of PIP. Research the legal aspect of PIP, easily available on line. Usual legal jargon applies !!
I stated on my previous statement, the 150 page PIP Assessment Guide, is ONLY a guide, as our Judge clearly indicated.
Even though our journey has ended, for now, we still feel let down, stressed, not believed, lost our mobility car, frustrated, reduced payments and so on. But please remember that one day it will conclude, you may or may not get what your looking for, but time and love will comfort you and although at the time, this process takes over your lives, it will not last forever.
Regards

Hello knockview, sorry to hear of your heart attacks, Hubby also has extensive damage to his heart, but the CRT is being fitted because he now has arrhythmia caused by the damage which can cause him to go into cardiac arrest. She did actually ask him could he use a phone, I wondered why she asked this [so naïve] she didn't ask mobile or house phone. She first asked had he had his pain killers which he had. Then about five minutes late said "right we are going to do some exercises" Sat down he had to put his arms at the back of his head. He had to try and make a fist, he did take his splints off to show her his swollen hands, but he tried. He then had to try and push his feet against her hands. He had to try and grip her hands. He then had to stand and kneel down which he couldn't get right down. Then he sat down and started to sweat which he told her, but she didn't write this down so I am very cautious of how it went really. I thought we would be relaxed now its all over but for some reason I am not, hubby is I think as hes so glad its over and like you say the stress is no good for him or anyone. Good luck to you if you are on this journey.

Hi Sandie H,Hubby is physically impaired but not mentally. He does require some supervision. I'm sorry to hear you feel let down, its awful how people are being treated. I did say in a round about way this to the lady this morning. You are right this has taken over our lives for weeks, its been awful. Hubby doesn't have a lot of fight in him, but if I have to I will fight this. But in the mean time I mustn't let it take over any more and remain positive that it will go our way.
Take care.

Can I just ask because I'm sat here thinking things over. The lady never asked my hubby about going on unfamiliar journeys. I know this isn't really for people with physical illnesses, but we did mention on the form that he couldn't because he has anxiety due to his illness. And the only question on his mobility was could he walk for a minute. My reply to this was we have never timed him as he does everything slowly anyway. On the form we stated that he could only walk twenty metres and no further..
