Hi FC

I also forgot to say,I saw that your hubby is attending the cardiac nurse now for his heart failure ,I would get a up to date letter from his GP and nurse and heart consultant as further evidence ,this will do no harm as if you read the other members words on this wonderful site they would say to put in as much detail and reports as possible.Your hubby needs his car to get him out and about and with him being as he with his heart condition it limits him to his walking being breathless pain etc. Did he get his IDC yet? This shows clearly the man is in very poor health as they dont fit these devices just for the fun of it. I hope this helps.

f c wrote: Sat here now thinking have we done the right thing! I did say to the lady we wouldn't be sending anything else in and just for them to look at it as it is, she did write down the bit we were querying. If you recommend we write in, how is best to word it? Thankyou

There is a template MR Request in the PIP section.

You are exactly right in what you are saying, but as we found it all very stressful we just came to the conclusion we would accept what they awarded. The thing is my hubby is so quiet and isn't very good at explaining himself. We managed to do the form ourselves with guidance off here but did find it difficult. We had welfare rights to help but really they didn't need to do anything as the form was done by the time we went to see her. We even had a letter off the MP but didn't seem to make any difference. We also had plenty of evidence because even the assessor commented about how much we sent in. And since then hes been put on a drug they use for cancer patients which is a chemotherapy pill. Hes also now under an occupational nurse for his RA. The heart failure nurse now comes to the house. I did inform them about this why waiting the decision. We are silly I know not fighting all this and I know perhaps I should for hubby but its very hard when hes just so quiet and doesn't have a lot of fight in him. I know we have questioned the help getting in and out the bath, but that's just because we couldn't understand why it was in the report he gets the help and scored points for receiving help getting washed but none for the other. But even doing this has brought all the stresses back.We have said if his award stays the same then we wont go to an appeal, Its a CRT-D hes to have fitted because hes high risk of going into cardiac arrest. Just waiting now. And that's another thing, when he has this, he could be anywhere and if it has to it will give him a shock and sometimes these can be that big they can literally throw you across the floor so hes going to be very anxious of this. Its just so awful that the sick are having to go through all this.

f c, when it comes to it you have to do what is right for you and your hubby. No-one else is walking in your shoes.

Other people can give you advice or tell you of their experiences but only you know what is right for you.

Of course I understand that Mrs Hurtyback, and I am very grateful for the advice we have been given by everyone on here. Thankyou everyone its very much appreciated.

I know its not right my husband not getting what hes entitled to, and I know deep down we are very stupid not fighting it. But I have told myself at the end of the day I'm not going to let this get me down and very bitter, because it could! My husband is here although not in good health and just so glad he is, because I worry every single day that one day he wont be :( So in the light of things this isn't really whats important. I'm not going to let the DWP make us any more miserable, they are not worth it.
