Hi

I have had my appointment for visit for PIP , December 9th at my home . Can you please point me in the right direction on how to prepare for the visit and anything I need to read to help me through this appointment .

I had hoped with the amount of consultants letters I would not need a visit , but never. Mind I am guessing it's more to do with my variable answer I gave for walking with or without pain .

Thank you Kay

Hi Kay,

The PIP guide explains what to expect on the day, the process will be very similar whether it is carried out in your home or at an assessment centre.

It is up to you to decide in which room the assessment is held and who you have with you. You do not have to make any special arrangements, tidy up etc. You don't even have to get out of bed if you would not usually do so!

The assessor has no more rights than any other visitor to your home. They do not have the right to look around - nor have we ever heard of anyone asking to do so.

Success PIP Just wanted to say thank you as the guides and discussions on this site helped me with my application from DLA to PIP .

I had a face to face then the letter arrived , successful in both parts.

I wanted to share good news, as And thanks to all . And to say keep going everyone, use the guides and be yourself .

I do find it strange some of the judgements made by ATOS and DWP as my letter had stupid comments like looks well nourished !!! They also will not count my physiotherapy I undertake out side of my home, which makes no sense to me as I have not got my very own pool at home. There are many elements I don't agree with in the report but not worth worrying over or challenging .

I wish you all good luck .
