HI. Well yesterday morning I had my home visit for PIP . Over all can say it was'nt too bad. Very nice man arrived exactly to the minute. (10.30). I asked him to sit opposite me as I cannot turn my head to the side, so he sat in a straight backed chair directly in front of me. I felt a bit cheeky really asking him that but what could I do.
I asked him if he had read all the additional information I supplied with my claim. He said NO ,IT WAS NOT GIVEN TO HIM, ONLY THE FORM .Alarm bells ringing. I told him I was quite upset about that and how can he assess me without having all the relevant info. He said he was only here to assess how my conditions affected me on a daily basis.
He did try one (that I am aware of) trick question. I explained that I no longer use a stick as I have lost the use of my right arm and if I used a stick in my left arm I would be helpless doing anything as I didnt have any more spare arms. Three or four questions on ,he asked how I stood in the kitchen . I told him I didnt go into the kitchen but at one time I would have used a stick HE STARTED TO WRITE ON HIS FORM AND HE SAID THE WORDS "SO YOU USE A STICK. " I said to him that he was out of order writing that down and that I had already said that I couldnt use a stick. He apologised and said he was only doing his job.
He wanted me to do a few bending and stretching positions but I couldnt do any for him . he said that was ok. I have a wet floor shower BUT if my flat was on fire how would I manage with a bath in the local hotel !! . Must admit that question was quite long winded.
Anyhoo ATOS rang me today asking what I thought of the assessment.??? I mentioned that the assessor had not seen the extra info and they said they would log it my concern on the spreadsheet.
Has anyone else had a phone call from ATOS asking what they thought of the assessment??

I'm being assessed by Atos tomorrow, but wanted to say I've also received a phone call from Atos asking me if I would rate their service.

I explained I hadn't been assessed yet so didn't feel I could offer anything constructive. The caller was adamant Atos wanted to know about my experience right now, prior to the assessment, and did I have 20-30mins to answer their questionnaire. I declined politely and said I would very much prefer Atos to post a questionnaire to me and I'd complete it and send it back.

I'll be sure to take my extra documentation with me, thanks for the reminder.
