I plucked up the courage to ring dwp pip telephone number at 5.30 this afternoon , to see how my pip claim was going any updates ,i havent even had a confirnation letter yet to say they recived my pip2 claim form as only posted it on oct 3rd arrived dwp oct 4th , man on phone said atos have already sent back the assement report this morning and a descision wil be made on it by dwp and i will get a descion letter in 2 to 3 weeks time , as i only sent in the pip2 claim form last week this seems really quick dont you think and still not sure if thats a good or bad thing , anyway i asked him if i can be sent a copy of atos assement report and he said he would request it, but it could take up to 2 weeks most probably come around the same time as the descion , hmmm all seems a bit odd that its happening so quick ,as ive had no face to face im guessing its just a paper based assement unless dwp unless they phone me i suppose ? , just have to wait for the dreaded brown envelope to drop through door now .feel sick with worry i know i should be pleased i didnt have a face to face but feel worried that because i didnt see anyone i didnt get to have my say , or should i just be gratefull and shut up about it . any advice from anyone would be nice to hear.

It is incredibly quick but not impossible. I would not read anything into the speed with which you have been assessed, there would be very little difference in the time it would take to recommend no award versus an Enhanced one, the whole process takes hours and not days.

I'm afraid a Decision could still be many weeks away, we are still seeing 7-8 weeks based on posts in the forum, the DWP operate a first in, first out approach to dealing with claims.

I think you need to wait and see whether your not "having your say" was a problem or not :)

From my experience of dealing with DWP over the phone, I would say that nothing they say can be taken as 'factual'. Whatever one person tells you can be swiftly denied by the the next person you speak to. You need extreme patience. My daughter was given contradicting responses many times over the eleven week wait for payment after a successful tribunal. Good luck.
