 On the new PIP forms before the main question is put to you they ask about aids.

I am not able to prepare or cook food, before I can state that, they ask if you need an aid?
YES NO SOMETIMES if I say NO will I be seen as able to cook without an aid?
If I say YES and later say my Carer is my Aid?

It feels this new approach is to catch you out and more worrying for me is if you leave all 3 of the
boxes blank is this void as I wonder if these questions are a quick way of tallying points?

I was awarded DLA until October but have less than a month to fill in the PIP form to swap.
It has flared up my Rheumatoid Arthritis that I am unable to walk at all!

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

If none of the tick boxes seem to fit your circumstances, we recommend that you leave them blank and explain why in the text box.

Don't forget to make good use of our PIP guide

PIP help for claimants

You might want to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. This will allow you to return with further questions/comments without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

I am confused face because after a lot of gentle persuasion my Consultant wrote a letter of support but what has upset me is she did not write it on her hospital headed paper but her own and then kept saying " She tells me she cannot walk more than 20 metres, she tells me she needs a wheelchair, she tells me she has a Carer with her" you get the point.
What is bizarre she has seen me in a wheelchair and my poor walking and met my Carer.
It is clearly saving her skin type letter so no blame on her and possibly she may go onto work for the DWP as my previous Consultant did.

The form is gone over a week ago is it worth me sending on this letter or would it do more harm than good?

By the way another PIP drama my Carer filled in the form and carefully explained my disabilities but made a boo boo when putting extra info at the back for getting dressed he left off the NOT in I am not able to dress myself. It has worried me sick as I had to go to a DLA tribunal before. He said not to fret because you have explained you cannot use your hands ect and they will see it is missing because the content was continued elsewhere. I don't want them to hit me with my own words. Who would go through this hell on earth!

I'm afraid it is a decision that you will have to make in consideration with the other information that you have available, I don't think that it would inherently cause problems but I agree it could certainly have been more supportive.

If you do decide to submit it then send a copy to the Assessment Provider, remember to include your full name and National Insurance Number. You should also take a copy to any face to face that you might have.

At the same time you could send a letter explaining the error on your PIP2, even though you may have explained your problems with your hands I would not assume those reading it will understand the mistake and apply it to the dressing activity.

Thank you Gordon. I was hoping I could let sleeping dogs lye.

How do I find out who the assessment provider is?
