disability to pip was created by di
Hi this is the first time I have ever posted on this much needed site although I have been a member for some time.
Had my assessment for PIP's and I was turned down scoring only 6 points. when filling in my forms I asked my doctors surgery to supply me with a letter to explain how my health conditions affected me day to day, I was told that the surgery had a policy of not supplying these details to DWP unless they were to request the details I offered to pay for such a letter but turned down.so on my forms I asked that DWP would consult my GP. I have since requested a reconsideration and again refused PIPs at this point I was told my doctor had given them medical details dated 2012 I believe these were obtained from my claim for ESA and they do not reflect on my condition today as my doctors tell me they have not supplied them with any information. I am feeling very angry that they don't seem to listen to what you are telling them and this is making me feel very low at 62 years of age and working from the age of 15 I wasn't expecting my life to end up like this. I don't know what to do now I don't feel well enough or confident enough to challenge this any further.
I would welcome any advice
thank you for reading this

You have three options going forward;

Leave it as it is for the moment. It will allow you to recuperate but you still have no money

Appeal the current Decision, You will have to prepare your case to maximise the chances of a revised Decision. Appeal panels take a much more balanced approach to looking at the evidence before them. Appealing can be stressful even if you opt for a Paper Appeal that you do not attend and even more if you opt to go to the hearing.

You can make a new claim for PIP, there is no waiting time. It will be a new form and likely a face to face assessment and you will need to address the issues that stopped you scoring higher on this claim.

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

A friend of mine scored 6 points for pip and wasn't going to appeal . I encouraged her to appeal and she received higher care pip.

At least if you appeal you have done all that you can.

Good luck
