Hi,
Can anyone help me, i have a home assessment a week on Monday. I expected to have to go to a centre so quite surprised I'm having a home visit. I have not had an assessment before and don't know what to expect. Do they look around your home? I have back problems and osteoarthritis and my nerves are gone incase i lose my claim. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You don't mention the benefit but our claim guides have a section at the back that covers the assessment process and the questions you are likely to be asked.
They won't ask to see around your house, you can choose which room you want to be interview in. I would recommend that you have someone with you if at all possible.
You can refuse to carry out any action that would cause you pain, but make sure you explain exactly why you are refusing.

Hi Gordon,
Thank you for your reply, it s a pip home assessment. I won't be able to have anyone with me either as husbands at work and i haven family near.
