I have experience of this and agree with Gordon and Miss HurtyBack based on my experience.

Today I have paid £180 for a consultation to give me my legal options, which to my amazement were ONLY THAT AN APPEAL can be done to get your benefits back, I did expect a faster recourse going through the courts but as Gordon previously pointed out to me.
For that money I am expecting them to prepare the papers and lodge THE APPEAL

HOWEVER a Fixed Price Fee is £840 inc VAT assuming there are no long problems or time needs spending on the case. ALSO you cannot get this money back from the DWP even if you win the Appeal and the DWP are in the wrong.

I think getting medical evidence to match you with specific descriptors is more important because even if you have a solicitor they will be on the phone to you asking them to explain everything to them anyway. Also I feel some solicitors who say they deal with these cases, may not be so good as they claim. You need to check whether they are recommended by Law Society.

ALSO I do not believe you are going to be any more successful having a solicitor prepare the forms. So try and reach out to someone else who can help you deal with the forms.

Good Luck
