PIP award renewed after submitting 'review' form.

Just wanted to let people know that it may not be all bad if you have to fill in one of the 'review' forms a year before your award is due to end. I submitted my form in September and have just received the decision letter: award remains the same until 2020. My award was due to end next year so I was really upset that they send the review form - seemed like just an excuse to end my award early. But no. And that also means that I'm spared the full PIP application form next year.

Must admit I'm amazed and rather stunned by this result. Especially as a medical wasn't required.

The only bit that brassed me off (there's always something!) is that in the explanation part of the letter, they said something like; "we awarded you PIP for a limited period as we expected your condition to change". This is pure stupidity as I've been ill for over 25 years with this condition. Hey ho.

Hi Cheryl - I put 'no change' on everything. Which is true. I added a few sentences about how I hoped I wouldn't be forced to contact my MP again if they turned me down as doing so is rather wearisome and time consuming. I also stated that if a medical was deemed necessary, it would have to be a home visit, as last time.

I did contact my MP during the initial application but that was before I'd received the result of the medical - I contacted him as the DWP were messing me around terribly - being passed from pillar to post, saying I hadn't attended a medical (which had been cancelled!) etc. I've always suspected that the MP involvement made a difference in my case.
