Hello

Wondered if moderators and others could please tell me the approximate wait from lodging an appeal to it been heard ?

I have already had a mental breakdown and found out today that I will also be LOOSING the Premium Part of my ESA which is a LOSS of £3300 a year, plus my previous DLA of £4000 a year, this ill leave me with virtually nothing to live on and may not even cover my bills.

Thats why am keen to found out. I guess it also depends on Area and I know its how long is a piece of string but would be interesting to have some ideas. I keep reading it can take a year, then someone told me from a City that its 6 months in that area.

THANK YOU in Advance

I'm afraid that members rarely report the time they had to wait but my best guess is about 3-4 months with a variance of about one month less and several months more.

You may be able to get a better idea once your appeal has been accepted by contacting the Clerk of the Court for the venue.

It will vary depending on the workload in whichever part of the country you are in. My appeal took just over a month from receiving the appeal bundle, which is exceptionally quick. I would put it down to the fact that mandatory reconsiderations make it harder to appeal and reduce the number of cases going to appeal.

Thankyou for sharing your experience Derek4

That definitely gives me some HOPE. Maybe when I read they were taking a year, was before
the MR came in. So it will not take as long as I thought.

Some Good News at least.

Hello Alison

Thankyou for sharing your experience.

Yes it is PIP I am going to appeal about.

Think you are right it will depend a lot on the area, so been in a rural area may help or hinder.
Reason so keen to know others experience is not getting PIPS has dropped my ESA money and the loss of DLA my annual LOSS is £7000 a year leaving me a pittance to live on. I say live ? pay running costs of flat and utilities etc. At least it is not a tear like it used to be.
