Hi tinytim,

The points awarded depend on the whether you need aids for upper or lower body, for instance. They are explained in the PIP guide.

Hi i had my brown envelope come on 21st dec and have till 18th feb to return.
Now for dla i have always had a doctor sent and now i asked dwp and atos what proof they need to get a home visit as my gp and phychiatrist asked me what atos and dwp require for a home visit.
I phoned dwp and atos and they could not tell me what proof you need to get a home visit which so i said to them is my disability and mental health plus two letters from my gp and psychiatrist stating i need a home visit enough and they could not tell me.
So does anyone know whats going on? as im confused what they really need.

Hi tt,

I have merged your query with the previous topic relating to your PIP transfer as we ask members to keep everything about the same claim in one place.

I think the lack of clarification is caused because the people who answer the phone have no authority to tell you whether or not a home visit will be allowed. If there are any specific 'rules' about this, I don't think they are in the public domain.

You certainly stand little chance of getting a home assessment without supporting documentation from your GP. The fact that you have this should have got you over the first hurdle.

I'm afraid all I can suggest is that you wait and see - after all, you might not need a face2face assessment at all!

If you have further questions about your PIP, please reply to this message and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite it on your browser now. Alternatively you can click on your username (in blue when you are logged into the forum) and it will bring up a list of all your previous messages :)
