PIP review AR1 form was created by Rachel Davies
Hi,

I'm relatively experienced in doing PIP forms now, I do some in my part-time voluntary position as a debt advisor and I transferred myself over from DLA to PIP 2 years ago (MRC, HRM), after a reconsideration I got Enhanced care and mobility, awarded for 3 years. A week ago I received a brown envelope of doom and it's a review form, disappointing to only have had 2 years respite from the form filling!

Obviously being a relatively new form there's not much information online, it seems like a stupid trap to fall into to go through and tick "no change" (there is change, I'm more disabled now than I ever have been, but I'm already on highest award!) however I thought I'd canvas opinion here.

There seems to be some anecdotal evidence online of some people getting away with "no change" box ticking, but my health is quite complex, I don't have a common condition and my personal experience of the rare condition is rare in itself..!

I've only had the same/higher awards than the last for 9 years now but this 3 year award is the longest I've ever had (and it's really the same as a 2 year award!!) I'm hoping they'll eventually cotton on to the fact that my health is not improving and not likely to without development of new treatments. I can fill in other people's forms a doddle but doing my own is so difficult, as, as I'm sure everyone else does I cope by developing my own way of doing things and doing things despite pain of epic proportions and translating that onto the stupid forms is so depressing and difficult.

Basically I'm trying to ask if I can avoid having to re-do the whole thing with a reasonable-high chance of success? What have your experiences been?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

We've only seen three members complete the process using the new form, all were successful, two ticked "no change" and as far as I am aware did not provide any significant information, the third ticked "worse" for some of the activities and supplied additional information for these and "no change" for the rest with no additional info.

The PIP Claim guide has been updated to include the new AR1 form.
