just had my reconsideration letter and i am still only getting the standard rate of the daily living allowance. i strongly contested this decision. this is what appears to have stopped me getting an extra 2 points on the question about making major financial decisions. although i do not do this and can prove this through my bank, i have a joint bank account which i thought i had to have to get my benefit paid into. WRONG this has clearly been the stumbling block, even though i have never made major financial decisions on my own and have not done so for several years, keeping the account and not having my benefit paid into my partners account has stopped me from getting the higher rate. also during the assessment i was seen to take a drink from a screw top bottle, (i always need a drink as i suffer from dry mouth syndrome). although one of the assessors whom i think was a trainee, passed me the bottle out of my bag and handed it to me, (i lost another 2 points here), this went against me. the top had been previously loosened by my husband and it still took me a long time to open the top and it was clearly obvious i struggled to open and take the drink but this was not mentioned on the assessment form. i could appeal but i am very unwell at the present time and i have been informed i cannot be allowed any extra time for all the form filling. if my condition does not improve over the next twelve months then i will just reapply for the whole lot again due to the worsening of my condition. i know appeals work i have done this in the past but i can't face it at this present time. please take note of the above and also do not walk over to the table where the water is placed ask someone to pass it to you. they say they are not trying to catch you out, this is a downright lie.
