ESA was created by Luckey77
I posted my ESA50 form on the 11th October by Special Delivery (it had to be returned by the 19th October). It was signed for on the 12th October. Today the 24th October I received a letter from the DWP to say that due to the fact that I hadn't returned my ESA50 form by the required date ,they were cancelling my ESA claim and payment. I have telephoned the relevant department and they are looking into this. If my form does not appear I will have to resend the original form and all medical evidence again. I' m worried sick about this and very agitated,it was difficult enough having to fill in the original form without having this hassle on top.Has anyone else on this forum been through the same dilemma?

The DWP are a lot better about receiving documents than they used to be but they still lose them on occasion, the important things are that you have proof of delivery and a copy of what you sent. I would leave it a couple of days for the DWP to do some investigations and then call them back, maybe Wednesday.

You can't really take any further action until you know what is going on, but be prepared to re-send the form and evidence at short notice, make sure that you still have a copy.

Thank you for your reply Gordon. I have kept copies of everything that I sent thank goodnes.

I'm just hoping that my paperwork will turn up and that I won't need to photocopy the form and my supporting medical evidence (as I had enclosed a large bundle).
Thank you for your invaluable advice on this forum

In this situation, when you can prove postage and delivery, can you claim second cost of copy and posting ?

They also lost my form back in March and I had to send another one in, because I had proof of posting they did reinstate my claim but I went about 2 weeks without money due to it. I would check you are still being paid, it takes them 1 day to stop your money but another 14 to give you it back. Hope you get it sorted.

I don't know, but you have nothing to lose by asking! I doubt that the call centre worker will have any authority to agree this so it would need a call back from a supervisor at least. We usually recommend asking for this early in the day if you can as that increases the chances of the call-back happening the same day.
