After winning my Tribunal for ESA 3yrs ago, I was put in the Support group.
I am dreading getting the brown envelope through the door and having to go through the entire process of filling in the questionaire medical etc. Would anyone be able to suggest the upper time limit for receiving this? 3 yrs seems to be a considerable time for the DWP not to be in touch!
On a separate issue I am unclear if I am receiving income related or contribution based entitlement. Looking at correspondence which I receive each year regarding the yearly changes in Social Security Benefits stating what monies i will receive each week its not clear.It appears that the majority is contribution based with a small proportion of income related.Is this possible?
I dont want to get in touch with the DWP to find out in case it alerts them to sending pout the dreaded assesment form.

Three years is at the maximum time between assessments for claimants in the Support Group, so you should expect to be reassessed soon, if you do not want to phone the DWP to confirm this then you can contact Maximus who now do ESA assessment and ask if they have had a referral for you, they do not have authority to initiate a reassessment. It is possible to receive Contribution Based ESA with an Income Related ESA top-up, check your latest payment letter, if you are receiving the Disability Income Guarantee then you are receiving ESA(IR).

The breakdown on the most recent letter (Feb 2015)
is as follows
Living expenses 73.10
Extra money because of the disability income guarantee 15.75
Extra money because you are in the support group 36.20
Total 125.05
When I won the appeal in 2013 I have made notes that
the breakdown was as follows(this is what was verbally stated by the DWP on the phone when i enquired)
Contribution based 106.50
Income related 15.15
Total 121.65
I am also wondering if I am entitled to apply for some financial help towards my heating costs, but I believe I need to be in the Income related category for this.
Your help would be appreciated
