Benefits Cap query. was created by Christine
I've just been sent a link from a friend about the Benefits Cap. The link states that it comes into effect on 7th November this year. The stated limit is £13,400 for single claimants outside London.

I'm now very concerned as my income (ESA, HB, CTB) exceeds this amount. It exceeds it even more when the SDP is added into the equation (wasn't sure if this is counted as it's only awarded if you get PIP)

I have received no notification from the DWP about this. Has anyone else? Can anyone clarify how this will affect me and if so, what benefits will be taken into consideration?

It seems really strange that the date (7th November) is so close yet I haven't heard anything about this!

Any clarification gratefully received!

If you receive PIP then you are exempted from the Cap. See
