I would certainly provide then with details of any dates that are not suitable but I would wait to do so until you ring them to cancel the current one, otherwise you are prompting to book a new appointment earlier.

It would not hurt for you to drop a quick letter to the DWP office dealing with the claim with the dates in as well, that way if Capita ignore the dates, the DWP will have been pre-warned.

Just had a call from Capita informing us that a home assessment has been approved, and a date will be sent out as soon as possible.

I told the agent of the dates to avoid, and they were able to note them, and said they would be avoided.

This comes after speaking to the DWP yesterday, and sending a letter to DWP, Decision Maker, and AP explaining the situation.

So no need to call and cancel, and a home assessment is in the pipeline ... slowly an end is in sight.

Right, so it's been 18 days since that call, and not a squeak from Capita ??????

So a 7-day written notice takes us into 17th January, or beyond - straying dangerously close to the dates that they have been informed (via writing and telephone) are not possible.

Any cause for concern ?

Alternatively, as a result of these appointments, more supporting evidence (2 separate consultant assessments, both noting deterioration) was supplied. Is it possible this has caused a review of the decision that a F2F assessment is useful ?

None of the Assessment Providers are known for the quality of their administration, it might be worth checking with Capita that they have the letter and understand what it means.

Appointment for mid-Feb arrived today. Home assessment, so can't do any more until they arrive.

Apart from having copies of everything submitted (and the subsequent new information) what else needs to be done to ensure we get the best outcome possible ?

You have done pretty much all you can now. About the only thing left is to remind yourselves of the actual descriptors and information you have given a short time beforehand.
