To be honest it doesn't really matter who it is addressed to, but if in doubt "to whom it may concern" is probably the nest.

We have seen assessors use confidentiality as an excuse not to read documents, but I suspect it has less to do with the contents of the letters than their not wanting to do any more than they had to complete the assessment.

Thanks, Gordon - I don't want to give them any excuses or loopholes!

Hello,

Well, have finally had results of my PIP application (was on indefinite higher rate of DLA for both components) - and I got the enhanced rate for both components! - whiich I obviously think is quite correct, but was very far from sure that I would get anything. They say it's til January 2026, but the review date is January 2025 (so it's nonsense to say 2026 then!).- so potentially some leeway - but who knows what will change any day with their machinations.

I followed your guides 'religiously' (as closely as I could, anyway!), and thank you also for the information on the forum - it all helped tremendously. I also sent in supporting medical evidence and proof of aids etc. and the DWP contacted one of my medical professionals on the phone. They did a paper assessment in the end, as my CPN told them that even a home assessment and the anticipation of it was too stressful and a risk - although she had written about that to them, they ignored it until she actually phoned. The DWP don't seem to have learned any lessons - or perhaps they really just do not care - about how the way they run the system causes unwell and disabled people to become suicidal, and even when evidenced, ignore it - it is astounding.

The put all the scoring and reasons in the notice letter and I don't agree with the way they scored and some of the comments - but I am not going to question it, as I am in agreement with the overall outcome - well, it couldn't be better in terms of the rates.

So many, many thanks to everyone at Benefits and Work. And thanks for answering all my questions.

Best regards

ctts
