I would answer all of the questions on the PIP2 first and then if there are any issues that you have not covered then there is a Further Information section at the back of the form that you can use.

OK, I'll try and do it like that. I'm beginning to think I'm thinking about this all wrong, somehow! I've studied the guide inside out, read the DWP guidance, used to do rights work, if you can imagine that - many moons ago, mind you - and social policy work - and now these forms have got my brain beaten right down! Aargh! The tolls of time and illness!

Hello,

sorry to be bothering you again. A question about sending letters of supporting medical (or other) evidence in with my PIP claim - who should they be addressed to? - should it be addressed directly to the DWP or should it be more generally addressed, somehting like 'To Whom it May Concern'? - I've just got this vague nagging memory of seeing somewhere that if addressed to the DWP then Capita / Atos assessors may not / may not be able to read them (?)

Similarly, is it necessary that they NOT be marked 'confidential' in order that they can be 'shared' between the Capita / Atos assessors and also with the DWP staff?

Obviously, I don't want any evidence I can get together to be unusable or only accessible to some of the necessary parties.

You should attach them to the back of your PIP2, perhaps with an index of what is attached.

Attach the pages to the back of the PIP2 using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

Thanks, yes, I'll do that.

But to whom should I ask the letter writers to address the actual letters themselves, whcih I then attach in this way? - are there problems with them being 'shared' between the assessors and the DWP staff, such as I think there may be; ifa letter attached to my form was to start, for example,with ' Confidential - To Whom it May Concern at the DWP' would a Capita or Atos assessor claim they were not able to read it as it was considered to be confidential to the DWP - or vice versa if a letter was attached to my form was begun as if addressed to an assessor, would a DWP decision maker then maybe not be able to read it - I thought this had been flagged up somewhere via this site previously?
