PIP Reassessment was created by Kaye
Hello
This site was so useful to me when husband first became ill and It helped us secure a PIP award which is due to end in July 2017. Although we didn't necessarily agree with all the decisions we were so grateful to receive anything that we didn't feel it would be sensible to challenge anything. We recently received the forms for reassessment and these were duly completed using advice from this site again and drawing upon our experience of the previous interview. My husband is getting increasingly anxious about the second interview which is next week at our home. I wonder if anyone can offer any advice/personal experience of what we should expect or is it basically exactly the same as the first time. He has an illness which is well documented, has twice monthly local hospital appointments and monthly trips to a London Teaching hospital. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you.

Hi Kaye and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Yes, this assessment should be much the same as the previous one. Have a look at the PIP guide for a reminder of what to expect.

PIP help for claimants

Your husband can chose in which room he wants the assessment to be carried out and who he has with him. The assessor has no more rights than any other visitor to your home - s/he has no right to 'snoop' around your home (nor have we heard of anyone asking to do this). The assessor might turn up on time. On the other hand s/he might arrive early, late - or not at all!

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your husband's PIP without having to start anew topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
