just an aside (nothing to do with benefits) - but I found in the past that any of the 'pams' (lorazepam, diazepam etc) make my anxiety go through the roof
I only have to take them for a day or two and bang - I am shaking about everything and it takes a complete 4 weeks to get it back down to a tolerable level again

those 4 weeks are hell, but it has happened several times now, so I know that at the end of that time my anxiety will reduce

I have no idea if that helps at all but I just wanted to mention it, after reading through the whole of this thread again

take care, and really pleased you got into the esa support group

Hi Walker, thank you,
I don't think I have any adverse effects from lorazepam, I have noticed that when my mum takes them she sounds drunk, she recently had to take them to calm her when she was going for a biopsy.
The lorazepam don't do that to me at all, she slept loads too.

I take them when I go to the Dr but still panic, I do wonder how I would react when having to go out without the lorazepam, maybe I won't take one on Tuesday when I have my pip assessment, maybe I'll be able to think a bit clearer or I'll be worse :S

I'm really happy I called the cmht, it's so helpful knowing she is lovely!

My mental health needs are quite complex according to everyone that has evaluated me so far, so I really hope the cmht are right and she really understands mental health!

Hi I just had a phone call from a nurse dealing with my pip claim, I don't know what to make of it.

She asked if there was any other health professionals that she could contact as she hadn't heard anything back from the hospital I was sectioned in, she said she has been trying to gather information, I explained about my Dr already leaving the surgery and how my surgery is closing down.

She thought I was still in hospital even though I put on the form when I left etc.

I don't have my first meeting with a psychiatrist until 22nd January, so she said they obviously can't help yet.

There really wasn't anyone I could think of, maybe I should have said the crisis team? I ended up getting really upset because I didn't know what to say to her and I think she doesn't believe what I put on my form

She said because I put on my form that I get angry sometimes that's why they didn't offer me a home visit, I said I'd never hurt anyone I just get angry at times for no reason :(

I said I have my medical on the 13th and I am really scared to go and she said she is going to try to sort something out???

I got upset and started crying and she said she is sorry and doesn't mean to upset me, she was really nice.

She also asked because I said I don't cook etc, she asked if I would know when I am hungry and I said yes but I don't do anything about it and my partner is always trying to get me to eat properly.

I really don't know what to make of this phone call, it's made me really nervous!
She didn't tell me not to go for my medical, so based on it being Friday I don't think there is much she can do before my medical on Tuesday :(

I am wondering if I should have mentioned steps to change!!!
I had two telephone assessments with them before they decided my needs were too complex for them and it would basically do me more harm than good seeing them and I am acute where as they only offer their service to people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
Then they discharged me to cmht which took a few months and ended up with crisis team and then sectioned.

I am sure steps to change could have explained more to them!

This is why I need to write things down for my medical because I always forget things and don't answer fully :(

This sucks, I hate not knowing what the outcome of that call will be, worried it's going to go against me and I'm going to be awarded 0 points

Hi Miserable,

It sounds as if the nurse was trying to gather more information to try and prevent you having to attend a face2face assessment. As you say, it seems unlikely that she will be able to do anything now before Tuesday. If you do not hear anything more you should attend on Tuesday as planned.

In order to fulfill the legal obligation to protect their staff, home appointments will not be given to anyone who mentions anger or violence!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The anger is mainly directed at myself, my partner gets anger directed at him too, but I've never been violent, I'd never hurt anyone, I do understand why they can't offer me the home appointment to protect the staff. It really makes me feel like more of an awful person :(

I will go to my appointment on Tuesday, even if it's zero points I get at least I tried and can do Mr and appeal if needs be.

I just really wasn't expecting the call, it's thrown me.
