patches123 wrote: Hi, I have been invited to a face to face medical next Wednesday to go from DLA to PIP and have been reading through the sample question list. I don't know what to say about the social life questions. I do try to go out once a week to bingo but don't do much else other than going to music festivals once or twice a year. Are these activities likely to go against me as I can't walk anything like 20 metres due to psoriatic arthritis. Many thanks for any help offered.
They will make assumptions, you will need to explain in detail how you manage these activities without your walking more than 20m.

any activity you do, you need to state you cannot do it in a timely manner, safely and reliably and repeatedly if you have pain when moving which may mean you need to stop and rest. I believe that you are awarded points if this is over 50% of days in a 12 month period. You need to state you cant walk more than 20 metres, my last medical assessment the HP put I could and I stated I could not without pain etc, I did get awarded PIP but decided not to appeal as had a nightmare of waiting 10 months. I was 4 points away from the mobility component and have struggled to manage to move without a wheelchair. Make sure you state what you had on your review form as they look for consistency in your answers. I sent for my report after my first PIP assessment to help with future problems and have used it to understand what will be chosen by the HP but as you know they are all different and reading some of the HP do not understand fully certain medical conditions and the impact of each individual .
Best wishes

Thanks for any advice.
We haven't seen anybody's ESA affected by a negative PIP result.
