When I read a story like this, it just beggars belief. I would do what Gordon said and get in touch with your GP and speak to him on phone if you cannot get in. Ask for a triage appointments where they ring you back and explain the problem to him. Ask the doctor to send you a copy of the letter or pick it up from the surgery.

I would urge you to contact your MP with the details of how your been treated. Tell them you are not been treated fairly and the assessor is not showing you any consideration of how ill you are.

The reason I mention the MP is because the system is in such a bad state and this is not a campaigning website, they still need to hear from people who are experiencing extreme difficulties with the system. I have spoken to some Tory MPs who are saying the system is broken but not enough people are writing to their MPs especially if they are tory and then
they say the system works. It does not matter what party your MP is still contact them, even an email. You can find them on here. If you doth like them still contact them.
I don't like men since we got a new one.

When i read your story I just can hardly believe it, but sadly there are many of these on here which is why I try and write to people.

I think if you can get this resolved from the start getting a home visit t may make the process a lot better for you. Clearly your not fit enough to attend and need a doctors letter.

I would also send a copy of the doctors letter to the actual DWP and say you have sent it to Capita. RECORDED DELIVERY, keep those slips. They will just say they have not received it if you don't.

Good Luck and KEEP FIGHTING !

I just wanted to wish you luck and to say that I found your post helpful.

The dreaded letter came for me yesterday and they are expecting me to travel from inner city Leeds to the far side of York for the assessment so I will try to get it changed too. When I opened the letter I felt like giving up but after reading your post and similar ones decided to persist with this.

All the best
