Long story but I have been trying for months to get a home visit or paper reassessment as I have issues walking and am very overweight, plus I have autoimmune issues. I cant guarantee on the day of an assessment I can walk.

Anyhow, the last time I spoke to anyone with regards this, I sent in more evidence re my mobility issues. I spoke to a lady who told me she was cancelling my appointment and that I should hear back within 3 - 4 weeks. 2 days later another appointment for a medical turned up for 9th November.

I thought this was an error because the lady said no appointment would be made and my case was being reviewed. I have been in a lot of pain recently including as I have today bloomin' abscess on a tooth and I am in agony, along with the pain from my mobility issues.

Get a letter today saying if I cant give a valid reason for not going to the appointment I may lose my benefit.

I have been on the phone over an hour on the 0345 number and no-one answers.

I am so fed up with this. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Can someone please advise me my next move?

Many thanks

Did you attend at your GP's or di they come out you?

If you cannot get a letter from your GP as to why you didn't attend then I'm afraid this may be a real problem for you.

Get your MP involved.

Contacting your MP

I'm afraid I think it very unlikely that the DWP will accept that you thought that the appointment had been made in error, especially If you did not contact Maximus about it.

I didn't attend at my GP's and no-one came out to me.

I have spoken to several people now and been advised I have a valid reason in that I was awaiting a letter from them with regards a home visit. I was told I would not need to worry about appointments because my case needed reassessing as I had sent in more information.

I have been told my file has left the medical centre but isn't yet back with the benefits people.

No-one seems to know who I need to speak to.

I am so confused with all these appointments and cancelled appointments.

Ok this morning I telephoned the number on the jobcentre plus letter. The file was with them but not closed. They listened to the entire situation and when I told them I was told I would hear a decision in 3 - 4 weeks, they agreed that because the dr's evidence that had been sent in concurred that I was not able to attend the Assessment Centre, I should not have been sent more appointments. Also as the appointment was sent out 2 days after being told I would have a decision in 3 - 4 weeks, it was understandable that I thought this was a mistake.

I also spoke to WCA Team who also agreed that this is an understandable mistake and this will be put forward to the WCA decision makers with the recommendation that I had already informed them I couldn't attend a WCA.

It will be passed back to the Medical Team who will have to make a decision upon a Home Visit or just to renew the claim.

So, it's back to the waiting game again. Both people I spoke to today couldn't have been more apologetic.
